Renato Mekolli began his culinary journey at the prestigious "Chef d'Oeuvre" cuisine school in Athens, where he laid the foundation for his remarkable career. His passion for the culinary arts led him to the renowned “Spondi” restaurant, a 2-star Michelin establishment in Greece, where he honed his skills under the guidance of award-winning chefs.
Renato's extensive experience working alongside Michelin-starred chefs paved the way for him to lead the kitchens of some of Greece's most esteemed restaurants. His dedication to his craft and relentless pursuit of excellence have made him a master of New Mediterranean cuisine, constantly evolving his techniques and palate through extensive reading and hands-on experience with diverse flavors and dishes.
Each year, Renato is celebrated among the best Greek chefs and recognized for the exceptional quality and finesse of the dishes he creates. His expertise in Creative Mediterranean cuisine has earned him numerous accolades and a prominent place in the culinary world.
Renato also gained widespread recognition as a Host of Hell's Kitchen Albania and as a jury member on the TV show Master Chef Albania. His warmth, authenticity, and professionalism captivated audiences, setting viewership records on Top Channel national TV for three consecutive years. Additionally, he showcased his versatility by winning the "Dancing With Me" TV show in Albania.
While Renato has received all the major Greek Culinary Awards, the pinnacle of his career came with a glowing review from New York Times critic Frank Bruni, a testament to his culinary prowess.
Today, from his humble beginnings as a dishwasher, Renato Mekolli is the co-owner of “TARAGON” Restaurant in Antiparos Island, a creative Mediterranean theme where he continues to delight diners with his innovative and refined approach to cuisine.
