Insecticide fipronil disrupts the central nervous system of insects. But these days is considered moderately toxic in Human's body - in very large quantities can cause organ damage in Humans.
Lately around the EU countries, especially in Austria, Britain, France, Sweden and Switzerland market, have been found eggs contaminated with the insecticide Fipronil.
Whilst the World Health Organization warns that the risk to public health is moderately toxic, the EU’s food safety alert has switched on.
Belgian and Dutch authorities are investigating how the insecticide came into illegal contact with egg-laying chickens.
