Due to the battery issues the smartphone Note 7, lived just couple of months on the market costing billions of dollars to the world’s biggest smartphone maker company.
The president of Samsung Electronics’ mobile communications business, DJ Koh, said at media event, “We decided to retain the Note brand after a survey showed 85 percent of 5,000 Galaxy Note users expressed brand loyalty”
The device protection market dominance will be revealed by Samsung Electronics Co Ltd later on Tuesday.
The Note 8’s U.S. price will vary from $930 to $960, which analysts expect to overcome $1,000.
In order to compete with Galaxy Note 8, Apple Inc, is widely expected to unveil a special edition of iPhone for pre-holiday season sales in Western markets. The New iPhone will celebrate 10 years of the handset, and will be equipped with edge-to-edge screen and augmented reality.
The Note 8 is tasked on boosting sales even in the world’s biggest smartphone market, in China, where local handset makers such as Huawei, Vivo and Xiaomi reduced Samsung’s market share to 3 percent in April-June.
“We are digging thoroughly into several issues we must overcome, as we don’t want to just make a few, sell a few and be done. We want to hear that Samsung made a very good product.” DJ Koh said, “it will take time to recover in China but expects changes this year such as appointing a new mobile chief, restructuring and focusing on key buyers to be effective.”
