President Donald Trump on Tuesday responded at Robert De Niro, tweeting that the U.S. “economy is the best it’s ever been. Wake up Punchy!”
The “Raging Bull” started last Sunday on the 72nd Annual Tony Awards show when Robert De Niro, expletive-laden attack on the American president.
Just before introducing Bruce Springsteen's performance the Oscar-winning actor outburst on the stage of the Tony Awards ceremony saying, “I’m gonna say one thing. Fuck Trump.”
The so-called F-Bomb against President Trump prompts loud applause from the audience of actors, directors and producers at Radio City Music Hall.
On a stage of the live awards show with more than 6 million Americans watching at home, De Niro said: “It’s no longer down with Trump. It’s fuck Trump.”
On the way back from Singapore the U.S. President delivered the response on his Twitter account: “Robert De Niro, a very Low IQ individual, has received too many shots to the head by real boxers in movies. I watched him last night and truly believe he may be ‘punch-drunk’,” Trump tweeted.
“I guess he doesn’t realize the economy is the best it’s ever been with employment being at an all time high, and many companies pouring back into our country. Wake up Punchy!”
De Niro, as a noted liberal, has been increasingly critical of President Trump, a Republican, at smaller show business events in the past year.
Nor could I imagine that a serious actor like Robert De Niro would show such a low level of communication.
