Actors, producers, editors, costume designers, documentary makers and musicians in 24 categories gathered today for the annual Oscar nominees’ luncheon in the Beverly Hilton today.
“This year has the largest class of women nominees. Far from parity and of course we need to do better. Gender parity is an industry matter, not just an Academy matter,” said John Bailey, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Bailey to the guests adding, “Inclusion, diversity, racial, ethnic and gender equality are not just buzzwords. They go to the heart of what our Academy is doing.”
There was no official word at the luncheon on whether this year the Oscar ceremony would go ahead without a host for the second time in its 91-year history.
The Oscar show producers’ goal this year is to deliver “an enjoyable and entertaining evening while we work hard to produce a three-hour show for the first time,” said Producer Glenn Weiss.
“The Favourite” of the Greek director’s Yorgos Lanthimos (No wonder why the movie is so depressing) and the Cuaron’s “Roma” lead nominations for the Oscars with 10 apiece.
The fans of A Star Is Born musical are looking forward for Bradly Cooper to win at least one of his three nominations, for Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay!
Three weeks ahead from the night of the Academy Awards ceremony when few of nominees' will bring home the Oscar Statue.
