Microsoft has built trendy Treehouses at its 500-acre forested campus to be used as informal meeting place or as casual work environment.
Employees at the Microsoft Corp headquarters in Redmond, Washington, have the opportunity to work in a strange outside ambience, in a luxury Treehouse. That's the way how company intend to boost employees’ creativity and happiness also to rethink what working looks like.
The Treehouse is a modern place built on the tree trunk 12 feet off the ground, illuminated by windows, filled with hidden plugs, WiFi, fireplace and an observation post called "Crow’s Nest".
Microsoft project manager, Bret Boulter wrote in blog post, "The first thing when you walk into the meeting space is that everyone is really quiet. You stop talking and are just present.”
“It’s fascinating. People absorb the environment, and it changes the perception of their work and how they can do it.” Boulter continued.
The Treehouses feature meeting rooms open to all employees and lounge spaces. ”Nothing formal,” said Genise Dawson, a Microsoft administrator who helped plan the project.
Microsoft Corp looks like is providing its employees with necessary resources in order to pull out the best of them.
