How to Increase Confidence and Self-Esteem

Wait! Are you wondering whether or not you’re a great person? Stop right there.

Every person, in his or her own way, is great! And you better start believing it because if you don't, who will?

What? You lack confidence because you feel others are better qualified? FORGET IT! The word “qualified” is really subjective.

Who decides whether or not you are qualified? Do you need the USDA to place a big, blue “USDA Interview Approved” stamp on your forehead? Of course you don’t.

Maintain a positive attitude, due to feel good about yourself, starts by Yelling Out Loud with Conviction: “I AM GREAT!"

Remember the tiger from the cereal commercials and how he used to say, “They’re Grrreeeeaaaaatttttt!” If you really want to feel good, go to a mirror, look at yourself, smile, and like the tiger, yell out… “I AM GRRREEEEAAAAATTTTTTT!”

Doesn't that feel good?

It feels good from this point of View

Right now, many of you may be experiencing difficult times. But, don’t feel sorry for yourself or make excuses for your situation. These feelings will only sabotage your efforts.

If you were laid off or fired, look to the positives. This is an opportunity, not a hurdle. Be proud of who you are and what you have accomplished in your life.

Everything happens for a reason although you may not know what that reason is today. However, in five years, you will look back on time and you will be glad you went through this process you are going right now.

Just remember that if you are feeling down or frustrated over a rejection or a situation. Relax. Whatever depressed you it was supposed to happen. Each situation that we experience is the beginning of a new path to living our life’s purpose.

Keep your spirits up by telling yourself, “YOU CAN DO IT!” Go to a mirror, smile, and scream at the top of your lungs, “I CAN DO IT!” Yell with conviction, “I CAN DO IT!” until you start to believe in yourself.

Be positive and you will succeed. People like being around upbeat people. Being optimistic is rewarding, fun, and creates enthusiasm. A positive attitude is contagious and those who catch it are forever cured!

It is easy to be sidetracked by negative thoughts, and easier to avoid them. When you surround yourself with positive and motivated people, their enriching attitudes, confidence, and support will rub off on you, and boost your morale and success. You will start thinking like a winner.

Living in a positive environment is like having bought the cheapest house in an expensive neighborhood which is always better than having the most expensive house in a cheap neighborhood. The value of the less expensive house in a good neighborhood is boosted by the presence of the more expensive ones.

If you have negative friends or family, stay away from them. If you can’t avoid them, then tell them to keep their thoughts to themselves unless they have something constructive to say. I know this can be difficult, especially when dealing with family, but attitude is so important!

Attitude often determines whether or not you get the job. So, be confident and surround yourself with positive people, and you will succeed!

Keep it high Self Esteem and Self Confidence
