No danger of a tsunami from the 5.3 magnitude earthquake in California State


The coast of Southern California has been hit by 5.3 magnitude earthquake this afternoon according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake was felt onshore throughout the Greater Los Angeles area at 12:29 p.m and its epicenter were off the Channel Islands about 38 miles southwest of Ventura, CA.

The USGS has received after the earthquake more than 10,000 responses just in about half an hour. California State it is not in danger of a tsunami according to the Tsunami Warning Center.

The LAPD is aware of the earthquake and they are working with other agencies to check infrastructure and other critical locations.

In any case, there are no immediate reports of damage, according to the Associated Press.
