Stepping around the Mother's Earth places connects us with nature, people, culture, tradition, taste, and often with Divine Consciousness. Through journeys, our mind grows, our soul expands, and life acquires meaning.
Since, for the time being, life is in a pause mode, I decided to keep traveling through Google map and its information to the places that once upon a time were a reference point for the evolution of humanity.
The Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico is the ultimate example of a place worth to explore the beauty of life and, of course, its ways of functioning.
Nature expresses there generously its power and beauty throughout the 2,600 Cenotes, the freshwater pools that the indigenous natives use for drinking as well as for sacrificial offerings.
Thousands of brilliant pink flamingos, myriads of bird species, such as Campeche and Quintana Roo, along with exotic plants, make reality look no further...a bit like a magical world!
The power of the mind, the scientific knowledge of antiquity, and time are expressed uniquely right on the ruins of the most spectacular cities, Chichén Itzá, Ek' Balam, and Uxmal, built between 300 and 900 BC by the Mayans, the ancient indigenous population of the Americas. The incredible complex of Chichén Itzá, one of the mythical cities in Yucatán Mexico, reveals the Mayan vision of the universe, which was intimately tied to what was visible in the dark skies of the Yucatán Peninsula nights.
The Yucatán old cities hold hundreds of temples and pyramids, each one an ancient academy dedicated to the Spiritual Elevation of those on the quest for personal transformation. Ancient texts describe temples there, as places where a person may be 'transformed into a god, into a bright star.' Worth naming some of are The Pyramid of Kukulcán, known as El Castillo, the Temple of Warriors, and the ball court.
The Pyramid of Kukulcán, with its 365 steps, one for each day of the year, demonstrates the accuracy and importance of Mayan astronomers. The construction of this calendar was an achievement of their astronomical science, whose skills were so advanced that they could even predict solar eclipses. The spring and autumn equinoxes (March 21 and September 21) happen to be the most magical event, as the movement of sun glides down the pyramid's primary flight of stairs and creates the illusion of a giant serpent of light, which symbolizes the return of the plumed snake for Mayans.
The Mayan astronomers apparently believed in the same philosophy as Christianity does, as described in The Bible, Matthew 10:16: "I am sending you out like sheep among wolves; therefore, be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves."
The sophisticated observatory structure of that time remains still on the site of the archaeological Chichén Itzá, which recently, along with the Pyramid of Kukulcán, were named the new Seven Wonders of the World.
And yes, fortunately, out there are more places where the beauty of nature synchronizes perfectly with the wonders of human minds, where man's ideas have been transformed into miracles. Look at the cocoa plantations in the Yucatán, established by the Mayans on 600 A.D. The cocoa beans, reserved for the elite members of Mayan society, were grounded and mixed with water to make an unsweetened drink.
The Mayan kingdom, the Ek' Balam was set northeast of Chichén Itzá, during the Pre-Classic until the Post-Classic period. The area is known for the plaster preservation on the tomb of Ukit-Kan-Lek-Tok, a king buried aside of the Yucatan's largest pyramid.
Ek' Balam provides a precious resource of information for understanding classic northern cities. As one of the most impressive cosmological ceremonial centers in the Yucatan peninsula allows us to witness the ornate decoration of temples and palaces of the kingdom. Walking through the exotic plants, we can admire the unique sculptures, especially the recently restored jaguar mouth sculpture in the front of the main temple.
Ek Balam citizens used the jaguar as a symbol for its strength, moreover as a spirit companion that would protect them from evil while they moved between the earth and the spirit realm. To combat whatever evil forces may be threatening, they needed to transform and cross over to the spirit realm.
From Chichén Itzá to Ek' Balam, each site was designed to embody specific spiritual teaching, each forming an essential component of a library etched in stone. There we experience the subtle forces of the site, and from there, we continue the journey to the temples to seek new levels of understanding of the natural sciences, which in turn raises our inner vibration.
Between swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing on the breathtaking beaches of Costa Maya, Rio Lagartos, or Playa del Carmen, we can keep exploring another genuinely magical and compelling place. The sacred Sacbé roads stem from the four cardinal directions as 'four-part cosmos' and descend into the underworld in the region's deepest Cenote that is of 80m in diameter.

The city of Uxmal, the most attractive archaeological park in Yucatán, is where we find the University of Sacred Spirituality and Cosmic Harmony, where information is stored in stones and is ready to access. Through powerful ceremonies and spiritual practices, we connect with universal wisdom and truth residing within – beautifully reflected in the design and purpose of these ruins.
